Current Doctoral Research | Title: The Changing Role of Small Towns in China's Urban Transition: Exploring the Factors Explanning the Transition of SmallTowns in the Yangtze Delta Region Key words: small towns, transport interventions, urban transition, high accessibility Abstract: This is a historical research on the changing role of small towns in Yangtze Delta Region in China. Through the investigation of how the roles of small towns have changed in this region across time, with specific focus on transport interventions and related political strategies, this research attempts to get better understanding on the key factors affect these changes, which helps to understand and predict the transition of small towns facing current high accessible regional development. |
