Title:

Technology Policy and Urban Form: High-tech Space Developments in Europe and Asia

Key words:

Technology Policy, Spatial Planning, Urban Form, High-tech Space

Abstract:

The study aims to advance knowledge about the relationships between technology and land policy and their combined impacts on the urban form. It will explain how technology and land policy shape the growth pattern of high tech spaces; how such spaces impact on urban form at different scales; and the role of regional planning in mediating these impacts. It will develop an international category and typology of technology policies and high-tech spaces, and explain the relationships through more detailed case studies. The outcomes will help policy makers and planners in responding to the spatial effects of technology policy.
