Stedenbouwkundig ontwerp (ontwerpend onderzoek) in relatie met: architectuur en civiel techniek. Thema's: integratie van grootschalige infrastructuur in het stedelijke weefsel (snelweg); techniek en esthetiek van wegarchitectuur (openbare werken, typologieën van 'streetscape', typologieën van 'public space', typologieën van stadsplattegrond); openbare ruimte als stedelijke interieur; de stadsplattegrond als vierdimensionale ontwerpopgave (vierde dimensie is tijd).
