12 years: urban plans and housing including modernization- Research articles and (contribution to) books about urban regeneration, housing sustainability, urban planning, Large urban projects, films documentary and fiction

specialism

Urban design (programme) related to architecture, urban transition and processes of urban regeneration with dynamics of social, cultural and economical processes and media. Moreover I coordinate and give lectures about urban planning and management; for instance feasibility. My PHD ( 2004) with sustainability of urban renewal is concentrated on the development of urban renewal processes, products and design concepts that means the concepts of the floorplans and of the urban fabric like facilities and public space combined with changes/ developments on the social-economical structure. I have worked about twelve years on urban renewal projects on the district level as well as modernization of the old housing stock and new housing within the old urban structure in several cities but mainly in Rotterdam. Besides related to my PHD work I evaluated theories about urban developments and housing provision.
