Colloquium ‘Exploring the visual landscape’

A colloquium ‘Exploring the Visual Landscape’ will be held 22nd March 2012 at the TU Delft Faculty of Architecture, and will be about the combination of landscape research, planning and design, visual perception and Geographic Information Science.
Visual landscape research in the rural and urban realm
During the colloquium renowned scholars and young talented researchers will address theory, methodology and application of visual landscape research in the rural and urban realm. The various contributions provide a wide range of insights into the psychological background of landscape perception, the technical considerations of geomatics, and methodology in landscape architecture, urban planning and design. Furthermore some speakers will discuss applications in the practice of landscape policy making.

The colloquium is an initiative of Delft University of Technology, Landscape Architecture and Wageningen University, Centre for Geo-Information and is a follow up on the recently published book in the Research in Urbanism Series: ‘Exploring the Visual Landscape. Advances in Physiognomic Landscape Research in the Netherlands’ compiled and written by Steffen Nijhuis, Ron van Lammeren and Frank van der Hoeven.
Audience and registration
PhD and MSc students, researchers and practitioners in the fields of landscape and urban planning and design, landscape research, landscape ecology, environmental psychology and policy making are invited to attend the colloquium. Registration through email is obligatory. Mail to: visuallandscape-bk@tudelft.nl with ‘Registration EVL’ in subject.

- EUR 75,- to cover expenses, payable at registration desk or via invoice (please indicate if you would like to receive an invoice and provide the billing address).
